A very special day. Celebrating a 100th Birthday!

30th April 2024 was a big day for Bankfoot as Megan Langdell celebrated her 100th Birthday . She had a wonderful time spent sharing happy memories with family and friends first at Moffat House on her birthday and then another celebration at Bankfoot House the following day.

Megan was born in 1924 in Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil and when she left school became a welder at Accles & Pollocks. During the war she welded parts for Spitfires.

In 1946 she married Doug, the love of her life, and they later had their son Stephen.

Together they moved to Moffat 10 years ago and after a long period of ill health Doug moved into Bankfoot. Megan followed a little while later .

Despite her years, Megan is still active and loves attending church and Bible study groups and joining with the knit and natter groups at Bankfoot.
